Our Program

Garland County Imagination Library, a non-profit affiliate of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library was formed in 2012, to serve the children in Garland County. In 2016, our name was changed to Imagination Library of the Ouachitas in order to expand coverage to include Montgomery County. In 2018 we expanded again to include Pike County.

The Imagination Library of the Ouachitas provides opportunities for all Garland and Montgomery and Pike County Children, from birth up to five years of age, to "Dream More, Learn More, Care More and Be More" by receiving a monthly gift of their own book delivered to their home, at no cost to the family, regardless of family income.

The Imagination Library of the Ouachitas is working to increase the literacy activities in the homes of children, improve parent-child interaction, increase reading in each home and have every child in Garland, Montgomery and Pike County kindergarten ready by 2020. Chidren enrolled in this no-cost program receive a new, age appropriate, high quality book sent to their home each month. Books are selected by a panel of early childhood education experts.
